While out, one of our stops was Old Navy. I must not have been thinking clearly, because ON is one of the few stores we actually have here at home. Anyways, Grace was in the cart and we were picking around and then she saw it...sort of like Moxie the Moo Cow, minus the vomit. She was like a moth to a flame...

Yes, a boy's chicken Halloween costume. |
She ohhh-ed and ahhh-ed and petted it and yanked it from the rack and into her chubby little hands before I could stop laughing in time to push the cart away. Then D saw what was going down and declared that a chicken was a great costume idea for a 1 year old girl (what?!) and somehow the chicken costume came home with us.
Unlike Moxie, who has not been touched since she made her debut in our home and cannot be returned, this sucker still has tags and a receipt and I am really tempted to take it back and order something more cute and girly. I mean, c'mon, how many years do I really have to dress up my kid as something I want her to be (or theme her birthday parties as if they are for me...)?
D's vote is no way, keep the chicken.
Mine is, what kind of message are we sending to the world, dressing our girl up in this gag worthy outfit?
Grace? She hasn't shown any interest since the chicken came home.
This is my life. What is your vote?

I think you should keep the costume and at least take funny pictures of Grace in it. You should DEF put her in it for your photo shoot w/ Susan! hahaha. Then you can pick out something that mom likes better! Because trust me, in a few years you'll NEVER be able to get her in that thing again, minus well take advantage, and make fun of it, while you still can!
ReplyDeleteif she has a little friend, they could dress up as an egg! how cute would that be on halloween?!
ReplyDeleteSorry D - my vote is for a cute girly costume!
