It's not yet 8am and I'm about to hit the Keurig for my second cup 'o life...obviously I'm still adjusting to an earlier start. My ideal scenario is to wake up by 6am, before Grace, and get in a quick workout video prior to starting the workday.
Today that didn't happen. My alarm went off at 6 and I heard her stirring before I could even hit the snooze button a second time. That's okay though, it will eventually become routine, and that quick workout will happen during my lunch break since I generally just eat at my desk.
Speaking of workout videos, I finally tried out my new Jillian Michaels one:
Verdict? I really enjoyed it. There were new moves and it kept me interested and engaged for a full 30 minutes. She continues to focus on HIT (high impact training), so along with ab moves there were things like mountain climbers, plank jacks, and other moves that engage the core but get you off your back. I can definitely feel it this morning, but what's nice is that it is a really dull soreness...I know I did work yesterday, but I can absolutely do another round today. So that's the plan. Another 30 minutes with Jillian and then hopefully a nice, long run when I get off at 3:30 pm.
Meal planning continues to go well and tonight we are trying another new recipe that I am pretty excited about. Teaser = Portabella Mushrooms. I'll be sharing tomorrow if we have a winner. There is also a big game on tonight...LSU v. Alabama...and although we lived in Louisiana for a couple of years, I'll be cheering for the other team. Roll Tide, right? :)
In other news, am I the only one who didn't realize that Georgia (and I'm sure some other states) don't sell alcohol on Sundays? I rolled up to the register with 2 bottles of new wine I was excited to try and was turned down. Color me embarassed.
Other than that excitement (ha) our weekend was nice and slow. We found a childcare provider for Grace (more on this soon), hit the dog park, and did our standard errands. We made plans to have a couple of friends and their families over for dinner next weekend and I'm already looking forward to that. I love hosting. This also an excellent excuse to get moving on some house things that still need to be done. The problem with moving from a small house to a bigger one, is that things are spread out and nothing seems "finished" to me. I know I need to pace myself and just focus on a couple projects at a time, but I can't help but want to tackle it all at once. More on this to come too.
For now, I'll leave you with my little nuggette (who is not so nugget sized anymore) in her new knock-off crocs. She looks like such a big girl! Now if we can just rid her of the bottle...blah!
xo,
H
I"m starting Jillian today!!! 30 day shred! :)
ReplyDeleteG is so big!! I can't get over it! ahhh :) miss you!
I know that she's continuing to be a lanky girl cause she's towering over Molly!! :) She's SUCH a cutie--well both those gals are. ;) Love the pictures with the dogs in them too--following her around.
ReplyDeleteIn Louisiana, you couldn't buy alcohol on Sundays either...I ran into that at Walmart one Sunday...sigh. Gotta love it....or not!
Glad y'all are making friends and meeting new peeps---sounds like you're settling in. Will you post pictures of the house once furnished the way you like?! :)
I'm cracking up over your alcohol reference! Also each county has their own laws about when they STOP selling on regular days too. My cousins live in Effingham right outside of Savannah, so we hit the bars and then were stopping at a gas station to pick up some roadies and whomp whomp they stopped selling at 10pm. Lame. Even better was walking into the WalMart on sunday and they had a sheet thrown over the wine.
ReplyDeleteGrace's curls are ADORABLE! She makes me want to go and have Baby Z #2 right now in hopes of getting a little girl (don't tell Matt ;))!
