My new love |
$299 dollars later this beauty was in the back of my car and headed to it's new home, in the corner of our guest room.
This is where she will live, quietly, until D finds her...because I'm not going to show him until he figures it out himself. Sometimes it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission, right? :)
It's been a day and he hasn't said anything, even though he has to walk by the guest room to get to his "man room" - aka, the extra space where he keeps his Army memorabilia and clothes so he can wake up super early for PT and get ready without waking the rest of the house. Wonder how long it will take him to figure out? We have about 6 weeks until the move, so we will see!
Our poor guest room leaves a lot to be desired, but it's coming along slowly. Obviously not a priority space right now. I have plans for a simple headboard, possibly spraying those lamps a lighter, more creamy color, and really just making it a calming neutral space. The duvet and shams are a little out of my comfort zone, but I think I can tone them down with the rest of the space and turn it into an inviting room for our guests. None of these changes will happen before we are in the new house, so don't get excited.
For now, my pretty chair is a small step in the direction I want to take the room.
So.
Do you think I'm awful for not fessing up to D? (He really isn't going to flip out or anything...I just think it's funny.)
Have you ever hid a purchase from a significant other, because you knew they wouldn't be as into it as you were?
I'm 100% satisfied with my buy. No remorse! I've gone into the guest room to gaze at it no less than 10 times since yesterday afternoon. It's my hidden treasure. ;)
xo,
H
I'm not sure I'd use the term "hid" but selectively decided not to share, yes, that may or may not happen from time to time. However, the Mr. checks the credit card statement online pretty regularly, so it usually doesn't take too long. For example, yesterday I made a Nordstrom purchase (jeans for over 50% off, how could I pass up?). Last night while on the couch, the Mr. says, "Nordstrom Direct?" and I turn to give him a guilty look and explain the necessity buying jeans for half off! He laughed and (kind of) agreed. :)
ReplyDeletelooove the purchase and the room! it looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat $299 for that chair! Now it just needs a cute accent pillow - but you don't have to tell D about that one either. It's adorable, good find.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I think a cute side table may be necessary as well.
DeleteAnd a cute throw draped over the top... and a cute framed print on the wall... I'm clearly not a good influence. :)
DeleteUm, let's talk about the wallet that Chris knows I purchased but not that it's a Kate Spade (because I think even he would know what that implies...) Woops!
ReplyDeletelove love love the new chair!!!! good pick!
