Better late than never, right? I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying. Little Baby M is the size of an onion this week, but I'm thinking that must be all curled up, or just a really big onion!
Things are starting to really sink in around these parts. I mean, we have 5 months and just days to go! Our next (or first) big baby preparations are going to be clearing out our guest room and starting to put together the nursery, which will from here on out be called "baby room" because both D and I find the word "nursery" really creepy. We are going to paint an accent wall so that the room has some color and I have some really crafty projects in the works. A lot of them depend on baby's gender, but in coming weeks I will share our top picks for boy and girl bedding so that you all can be in on the plans! So much to do between now and October... :)
How far along?: 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: After this weekend, I'm pretty sure I'm up about 9 total. My goal is to maintain and not hit 10 until about 20 weeks...cause it's going to start piling on at that point. Since vacay is over I'm going to say goodbye to candy and dessert for awhile...unless it is absolutely necessary. ;)
Maternity clothes?: About 25%. I can still wear regular shirts and dresses but all bottoms need to be worn with a BellaBand (an elastic waistband that covers my unbuttoned and unzipped pants or skirts). Please pray that my thighs stop growing by the day. Thank you very much!
Sleep: Pretty good, I just wake up to reposition and pee. I think I've gotten used to sleeping on my side and a pillow between my knees really helps!
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby :)

Movement: Yes! Occasional wiggles.
Food cravings: I got my seafood fix last weekend, so nothing really for now. (Thank God.)
Gender: One month away from the reveal!

Belly Button: Innie, but I've noticed it gets shallower after I eat a big meal. So weird.
Stretchmarks?: Not that I've found, but another awesome pregnancy discovery has been little blood vessels on my legs. Really cute.
What I miss: Running to my hearts content. I actually miss those 16-20 mile marathon training runs. I felt like my body was a running machine as opposed to a baby building one...which is still pretty cool. I've been terrible at working out the past couple of weeks, I'm looking forward to getting back into it and feeling good.
What I am looking forward to: Feeling more movement and having them get stronger by the week. I can't wait for D to get to feel them and experience the connection that I am feeling with our little munchkin. :)

Weekly Wisdom: Get extra pillows. Don't use "cravings" as an excuse to eat like a hoss...(*cough*Heather*cough*)
Milestones: I think feeling movement was a pretty big one! Let's keep things calm and incident free for the next 10 weeks or so and make our way to Trimester 3!
And the moment I hate the most out of each week...

So Week 18 here we come!
xo,
H
