Weekend Recap

Why do the weekends go by so quickly?!

Here's a little recap of ours:

Molly came home from her lady surgery on Friday afternoon and was a little woozy. I may have laid with her on her dog bed and even shed a tear or two when she put her sad little head on me. Poor baby. After a few (or 12) vomming sessions she woke up Saturday feeling like a new woman and is back to normal already!

I came home Friday to a couple of unexpected packages on my porch. My MIL and SIL both sent me sweet Mother's Day cards and presents. I have some new maternity tops from D's mom anddd my favorite gift- an adorable box of some newborn must-haves from the seriously talented Toni! I will have to take some pictures of the little onesies and other goodies, but until I do, you can see her blog for a run down of package and some pictures as well. Thank you for such a wonderful surprise! :)

On Saturday we (okay, mostly D) did our weekly house cleaning and I think I might be starting to "nest". Not so much as in cleaning our house for baby, but for whatever reason I had a completely unnatural urge to cook up a storm. All weekend. I made Walnut Spice Muffins, a Spaghetti Bake for a family our unit is making meals for during a hard time, Roasted Chickpeas, Cold Pea Salad with Cashews and Bacon...and that was just Saturday. By dinner we were so full that we just rented a movie and had cereal. Very romantic. On a side note- renting "Brothers" when you have a husband in the military who has a brother named Tommy is not a great idea. We turned it off 20 minutes in.

Sunday I woke up to the smell of a pancake breakfast and a present from the daddy-to-be and Baby M. He scored major points. We hit the gym, went to the PX for Starbucks and to check out the baby section, and then made our way to the commissary for some groceries. We had a couple that lives down our street over for dinner and I got some more cooking out of my system. It was a fun night and great way to wrap up the weekend. I think it's safe to say I am quickly becoming a master of the "side dish" and need to continue working on my main course repertoire. I have 3 or 4 new dinners in line for this week, so I'll have to report back on the results and post any recipes worth sharing!

I'll be posting Week 18 this evening, so check back soon. Also, I had a request way back when for a tour of Casa de M, so I'll try to take some pictures this week and get something up so you all can see our little slice of paradise...

Have a great week!

xo,
H
