End of Week Wrap-Up

Happy Friday!

This week has been busssayyyy...with lots going on at work, Grace going to the ER (not an emergency, don't worry) on Tuesday night, an Army function last night, and just to top it all off I was viciously attacked by an ant colony yesterday. That's what I get for bragging about my license photo right? Two sandals full of ants.

First the ER trip- G got "released" from daycare for the 3rd week in a row with a form that had to be signed by a doctor before she could go back. Last week it was for a slight fever while she was teething. The week before it was diaper rash. Sh*ts getting a little ridiculous. Anyways, after finding out there were no available appointments the next day, we all got into comfy clothes after dinner on Tuesday night and trekked up to the hospital to get her seen that evening. Long story short, she had a slight ear infection in one ear that was causing some eye goo in one of her eyes. Contagious? No. Gross? Yes. We were on our way in less than an hour and a half and celebrated with Cherry Limeades from Sonic.

Army stuff - Last night we had a Hail and Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. They usually occur about once a month. It was great to get out and see people...we have some really wonderful families in our unit and don't get together often enough! D is officially back to work, still in his sling, but my "house-husband" (got this term from a friend awhile back- LOVE it!) is no more...which means my daily errand/maid service is over as well. Damn.

Getting attacked by ants - Has this happened to anyone else?! Never have I seen ants as vicious as those in Louisiana. They are everywhere and they are mean. By the time you realize they are biting, often you will already have half the colony on you and they are hard to get off while hopping on one foot in pain. Last night when I was loading Grace into the car, I discovered we had parked on top of a huge ant hill. I literally have bite marks all over my feet- even between toes (eww)...not fun.

This week I made these for dinner on Wednesday:

White Chicken Enchiladas. They were easy to make, but turned out a little bland. For those of you cooking wizards out there, let me know if you have a better recipe or can figure out how to give this one a kick!

Here's to a relaxing weekend and hoping that next week is not quite so eventful. :)

xo,
H

  1. Glad G is ok:) Those ants sound horrible!!! They sound like red ants? For the enchiladas (which look yummy!) I would season the chicken for you cook it to get some more flavor... taco seasoning, cumin, etc. might help give it a kick!

  2. Those look amazing, although it was pretty funny reading about food after hearing about ants between your toes - too funny! Can you either post or email me the recipe?
