Workout/Weekend Wrap-Up

Last Week's Workout Schedule:

Monday
- 10k, Ab work
Tuesday - Spin Class, 2 mile run
Wednesday - 5k, arms/back FAIL
Thursday - Spin Class, 2 mile run and added in a quick 1000 meter swim at lunch!
Friday - 1200 meter pool workout, Ab work
Saturday - Spin Class, legs FAIL
Sunday - OFF :)

The verdict: While having a thought out schedule really helped with my motivation...life got in the way. This actually did a great job of showing me that Wednesday's (when I drive 2+ hours round trip for work) would be a much better day off than Sunday. After working all day and sitting in the car, the last thing I wanted to do was workout. Usually I push through it, but since D is STILL unable to pick up Grace from daycare, I really didn't have time anyways. Until he is back on pick-up duty, I'm going to cut myself some slack.

This weekend D had to work a few hours each morning and that knocked out the possibility of spin class on Saturday...and then instead of getting something in later, we spent some great family time together in the afternoon. Scoping out a new Mexi restaurant and Frozen Yogurt joint was well worth missing a workout.

P.S. The Fro-Yo place is called Spoons. How cute is that?!?!

Some random weekend iPhone pics:

Oh hey, I'm just standing. No big deal.
Nothing to see here...especially not the dirty PB rug that Major chewed a hole in. Pretty sure that's a rogue Cheerio on the floor. I'm sure it was promptly eaten too (hopefully by a dog)...

Check out the phone on the ottoman. That belongs to G, who holds it up
to her ear and chats with her buddies regularly. What a social butterfly.

Even though I'm a big, bad standing machine, I still take time to hug my pals. Mostly Molly.
That Major guy is a major pain in the you-know-where.

On Sunday I woke up feeling less than stellar thanks to a certain monthly treat. HOLY cramps. After joining Grace for her mid-morning nap, we hightailed it to Starbucks where I chugged a Skinny Vanilla Latte (hold the foam), and we split a ginormo chocolate cookie. Grace proceeded to climb up the back of one of the cozy Starbs chairs and wave/smack the window at unsuspecting people passing by. I thought it was hilarious. The employees who had to clean off her finger prints later that day probably did not. But if feeding my (almost) 11 month old chocolate and giggling together is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

She was too giddy to look at me and cheese for a picture. I'll let it slide. :)

G is smack dab in the midst of cutting her 1 year molars, and those suckers are really getting her good. She cut another tooth on the bottom a week or so ago, bringing our total tooth count up to 7. 4 on the top, three on the bottom. It looks like the other side on the bottom is making its way in too. This all brought on a 12:45 am wake-up call that included screaming and then whimpering until almost 3 am. Nothing a little Tylenol and a midnight bottle couldn't fix- but ouch...being little is rough!

This Week's Workout Schedule:

Monday
- 10k, abs
Tuesday - 4 mile am run, 1200 meter swim
Wednesday - OFF :)
Thursday - Spin Class, 2 mile run
Friday - 1200 meter swim
Saturday - 5k jog with G
Sunday
- 5k jog with G

This week things are already getting a little crazy. We have an Army obligation Tuesday night and then D goes out to the field for several days starting Wednesday. That means we have a girls weekend coming up! I'm going to try to get outside with the jogging stroller as early as we can manage to beat the heat and get something in. I'll have to plan other activities for us as well. Weekends without daddy can get a little boring around here. I'm thinking a pedi and pool date will have to fit their way into our lives.

Hope everyone's week is off to a great start! What kind of workout plans do you all have for the week?

Also - I need to make a side dish for tomorrow night. Any tried and trusted recipe ideas?

xo,
H

  1. Can't wait to see her start to walk - such a big girl! I did hills today and WOW it's been a while! I plan to run 2 more mornings (30-minutes each) and get yoga in to stretch out my muscles. I wish I belonged to a pool like you!
