Roni's and secret packages :)

Good morning/early afternoon, lovelies. So happy to already be into Thursday...but seriously, what is with time FLYING?! It's good and it's bad, ya know? I guess it's great when you have something you are looking forward to (like moving...and the holidays), but kind of crazy when you have a lot on your plate (like moving...and the holidays).

We're gonna make it. I'm pretty sure, at least. ;)

We had a pretty great day yesterday. Wednesday's are my "go into the office" day, so they start off a little earlier than usual and with more caffeine. Grace and I made it to daycare and work and I actually skipped out a little early to work a few hours from home in the afternoon so the pups wouldn't be doing the potty dance all day in their crates.

A special package was on the doorstep when I got home:

Allowing me to intercept it before D saw the goods. These old things? Pssshhh, I've had them for-ev-er. (Lie.)

In fact, D was working until super late last night, so Grace and I celebrated girls night by making something for dinner that I love and D hates:

Side note- while searching images I found this little gem:

Is that not the creepiest thing you've ever seen?! Or is it a contender for Grace's Halloween costume? (KIDDING.)

Anyways, D so rudely says that Hamburger Helper is poor people food. Consider me homeless. Eating a bowl of deliciousness brought be back to my pregnant days where he would be out in the field for a week and I'd come home, make a batch for myself and get comfy in front of the TV with several helpings. I could balance the bowl on my giant belly. It was talent...and sort of gross.

After our "roni's" we played outside, had bath time, read books, and got all snug and ready for bed. Grace fell asleep right before Modern Family and momma got to put her feet up and relax. It was just your run of the mill weekday, but it was nice.

 Just ignore the mess...

I always daydream about how I want our lives to be down the road...kids coming in from playing outside after school, our house is organized, we have a big kitchen with an island, and I make dinner as they help set the table and we sit down for a nice family meal.

Is that so weird?

I think about it a lot and have this idea of how fulfilled I'll feel. No clue why. Right now this is more of our reality:

We love it. And fortunately majority of us love easy meals, like the above (Sorry, D), so for now the dream is just that and we'll settle for toilet paper on the floor and messy rooms and hobo dinners. :)

xo,
H
