Back from Savannah

...and oh so depressed! You guys, we LOVED everything about our visit this weekend. It rocked our worlds- except for maybe Grace, who was dragged along from house to house and had an awkward number of head bumping incidents between the houses and realtor's office. Poor little girl. She made it though and behaved surprisingly well given everything she was put through!

On the road

The details. We found a house. Made an offer. And are waiting for a counter offer this morning. We have a couple non-negotiable things that we need to happen and if they don't? We were lucky enough to find a second house that we would be happy in as well. I feel like such a big kid with big decisions like this. It's no wonder my face looks like a 14 year old in the throes of puberty...the stress of it all doesn't so much affect my attitude as it does my skin. Very niceeee.

Especially since we got to meet a blog friend in person on Saturday night! We made our way over to Madeline's house after our day of house hunting on Saturday and met her, her husband, and of course, sweet Emmie. They are all wonderful and I think we knew immediately that the night was going to go well. Madeline and I already knew that we have a ton in common and I'd threatened D into being on his best behavior. Turns out I didn't even need to...he and Chris got along great and Maddie and I already have plans to make them have man time/watch the girls while we go get our shop on. We made our way down to Savannah to an amazing pizza place where we got to people watch and check out some of the surrounding shops. We wrapped up with gelato and went our separate ways...so excited to get to July and live literally 2 minutes apart.

I see a lot of fun group hangouts in our future. :)

Mother's Day got off to an exciting start with us wrapping up our offer after sleeping on it Saturday night. We celebrated by stalking our potential house for the last time and going to Fish Tales for lunch. It was an adorable little hole in the wall located right on the water on Fort McAllister Marina. I got the crab cake sandwich, D went with fish tacos, and Miss G enjoyed some popcorn shrimp. All of it was out of this world good. I forgot how much better seafood is when you get it fresh and it is definitely on our list of places to take visitors.

We made our way back to Columbus (its almost exactly a 4 hour drive) and back to reality and now it's just waiting to hear about the house...which I just got word should happen in the next 30 minutes.

Gotta run! Lot's more to come.

xo,
H

  2. This post made me so sad :( I miss home so much! Plus, I can't tell you how often I was at Fish Tales. A good friend keeps his boat at the Marina most of the time. Sigh... Now I want to go home for a visit immediately!!

And yay for finding a home!!!
